NCT Dream is a seven-member boy group stemming from the original K-pop powerhouse NCT. The sub-unit was formed in 2016 when they debuted their single, “Chewing Gum.” At the time of their debut, the member comprised Mark Lee, Renjun, Na Jae-min, Lee Je-no, Haechan, Zong Chenle, and Jisung. One year later, the group topped the Korean charts with the release of their single album. The same year, they released their debut EP, We Young, peaking at number 2 on the Korean charts and number 3 on Billboard’s World Albums chart.
In 2019, NCT Dream dropped their most successful EP, We Boom, earning a two-time platinum certification after selling over 600,000 copies in Korea. The album, which features the hit “Boom,” also topped the weekly Korean charts upon its release. Two years later, the group released their first number 1 single, “Hot sauce,” which also saw the return of rapper Mark Lee, who previously graduated from the group. The single topped the Korean weekly chart and peaked at number 8 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales. This massive hit single was spawned by the group’s debut studio album, Hello Future, which sold over one million copies in South Korea.
This 2023, NCT Dreams continues to promote their latest album, Beatbox, which was released last year in spring. The album, which featured the single “Glitch Mode,” is their best-selling effort, with over 1.5 million copies sold in Korea. Along with Beatbox, NCT Dream will also showcase their latest EP, Candy, during their upcoming spring tour.
