The critically-acclaimed rapper just announced his first headlining show in over 30 years! LL Cool J will grace the summer with The Frequencies of Real Creative Energy Tour! The F.O.R.C.E is set to feature the hip-hop icon along with other artists, such as The Roots and Juvenile! LL Cool took to social media to announce his brand new outing. “This is not a moment. It’s a movement. For my first Arena tour in 30 years, I am bringing you THE F.O.R.C.E. (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy.) @theroots, @ztrip & @djjazzyjeff will join me in the ultimate Hip-Hop mash-up with a legendary non-stop continuous set!” The highly-acclaimed rapper emerged in 1984 and signed with Def Jam Records. The following year, he released his debut album Radio, which immediately broke into the Billboard 200 and peaked at number 6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The record, which spawned the hits “I Can’t Live Without My Radio,” “You’ll Rock,” and “I Can Give You More,” sold over one million copies in the U.S. and earned a platinum certification.
After his phenomenal debut, LL Cool J moved to release 12 more studio albums, including his highly successful 2000 effort, G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time). The album topped the Billboard 200 and the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and entered the charts in eight other countries. The sensational hit preceded the record “Imagine That.”
Some of LL Cool J’s other incredible hits include the Billboard Hot 100 performing singles “Hey Lover” featuring Boyz II Men, “Loungin” featuring Total, “Luv U Better,” and “Control Myself” with Jennifer Lopez. His almost four-decade career has also resulted in numerous accolades, comprising two Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, four NAACP Image Awards, and three Soul Train Music Awards. In 2021, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after five nominations in the past.
LL Cool J, born in Islip, New York, received the Key of the City from Queens, New York, in 2022. This honor was presented to him during Rock the Bells Festival. Adrienne Adams, the speaker of the city council, said, “It was an honor to present him with a proclamation acknowledging his undeniable impact on hip-hop and popular culture.”
