The show is headlined by legendary rapper Rick Ross, who emerged in the hip-hop scene in 2000. In 2006, he released his debut album, Port of Miami. The album became an instant hit, and it topped the Billboard 200, the hip-hop, and R&B charts. After selling more than one million copies in 2016, the debut album was certified platinum by the RIAA. After his debut album, Ross released hit record after hit record, consistently topping the charts. In 2013, Ross earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album for his fifth studio album, God Forgives But I Don’t. The critically-acclaimed album entered the charts in ten countries, including the U.S. and Canada.
Co-headliner Jeezy, formerly known as Young Jeezy, is an award-winning rapper who has earned numerous accolades, including a BET Award and a BET Music Award. His two-decade career began in the hip-hop scene in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2001, he released his debut album, Thuggin’ Under the Influence (T.U.I.). Four years later, Jeezy released his major-label debut, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, via Def Jam Records. The album peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 1 on the hip-hop/R&B and rap charts. Jeezy released nine more studio albums through Def Jam Records, each performing impressively on the Billboard charts.
Fellow Atlanta-based rapper Gucci Mane also joins the much-awaited Legendz of the Streetz Tour. Gucci Mane made his debut in 2005 when he released Trap House. Together with Jeezy and T.I., also from Atlanta, Gucci Mane helped pioneer a hip-hop subgenre called trap music. His studio albums are the quintessential trap music, containing synthesized beats consisting of innovative snares and hi-hat patterns.
